"The War is Over" is a short film (only 28 minutes) produced by the Canadian Film Board about World War I veterans returning from the war. Traveling home on a ship heading for Halifax, the men work out their feelings about life after the war. Major Driscoll expects welcoming parades. Captain Mitchell wants to forget the horrors of war. Private Gagnon is ready to enjoy life and gets in trouble.
Duncan Regehr plays Sergeant Jack Greer, the officer who is constantly caught in the middle of the disputes between the men and the Major.
