Fast Track is a series that aired on Canadian television and Showtime. It revolved around the exciting world of stock car racing. Dr. Richard Beckett is called back to the Eagle Ridge Raceway by his old friend and now rival, the ruthless Christian Chandler, Jr. ("affectionately" known as CC by employees and family). It seems the raceway is in a bit of trouble, but Beckett's employment and endorsement will give the track some much needed legitimacy. Beckett and Chandler are in love with the same woman, Chandler's estranged wife, Nichole, and Chandler's half-sister, Mimi, also has a fancy for Beckett. Each week the viewer is shown another slice (and sometimes a rather off-beat slice) of the life of the drivers, fans, owners and track workers at a stock car race track. The series was filmed in the Brampton area of Toronto in 1997.
Duncan Regehr plays Chris Chandler in the twenty-two episodes that aired.
The first two episodes have been available for a while on both VHS and DVD as they were presented in a two hour premiere for TV. Now there's also a five-DVD set available that should have the entire series on it.
