Biography

Duncan Peter Regehr was born October 05, 1952 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. He was raised in Victoria, British Columbia and is of English and Russian ancestry. He and his wife, the former Catherine Campion of England, have been together since 1977.  Standing 6' 5" or 6' 4", depending on which account you read, (although I've met him and I'd say he's 6'5" easily!), and classically trained as an actor, he has been cast in a number of swashbuckling roles, though his career has been marvelously varied.

As a teenager, he hosted a television show on CATV in Creston, British Columbia called The Strawberry Lane Interview Hour.  From that beginning in show business, he would go on to play such roles as a Roman gladiator, modern businessmen, historic characters, science fiction legends, dastardly villains, romantic heroes, and comedic personalities.  With a solid background in stage work, his career spanned film and television, gaining him success in all three.  With an expression, a gesture, or a tone of his voice, he can mesmerize with his presence and convey complex meanings in any role he inhabits. His deep, breathy voice can be spellbinding.

His skills are many. As a youth, he was very seriously tackling figure skating and appeared in local and regional ice shows. Later on, it was boxing that captured his attention for a while. From riding to fencing to mountain climbing, he excels at every physical sport he attempts. He followed his father into the world of art and began painting. His unique style has earned him great success in the art world as well. Duncan is also an accomplished poet. He has been published in magazines and university quarterlies. Some of his paintings and poetry can be found in his book, "The Dragon's Eye: An Artist's View."

With so many talents at his command, Duncan Regehr truly deserves the label of "A Renaissance Man of Today."
